AR Rahman Acknowledges That He Thought Lal Salaam Would Be “Cringy, Boring”: “The Story Told by Aishwaryaa R”

AR Rahman said that at first, he had doubts about Lal Salaam. The soundtrack for the Aishwarya Rajinikanth movie was created by the music director. Rajinikanth makes a brief appearance in the Tamil film as well. Rahman discussed production on the movie at a recent event, admitting that when he initially read the screenplay for Lal Salaam, he thought it was “preachy” and “boring.” But after seeing the movie, everything was different for him.

Rahman said, “When Aishwarya first told me the story of the film…,” as quoted by Indian Express. “This movie is going to be boring, da,” I thought. I assumed it would be didactic. Before I viewed the movie… Thoughtfully handled, the sections that I had assumed would be corny and preachy ended up being quite touching. When I questioned her about who created the dialogue for the film, she said, “I wrote and Appa changed a bit.” I understood that to be his wisdom. Due of his reverence for all things, he has done extensive study and made several unusual statements.

“Daughter of the superstar,” he continued, turning to face Aishwarya, who was sitting in the audience. Being his daughter is an extremely tough task. I am aware of your circumstances. You will always encounter criticism. You get criticism for dancing, directing movies, dressing a particular way, etc., even when you have proven yourself.

Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth is the director of Lal Salaam, which is scheduled for release on February 9. The film stars Vishnu Vishal, Vikranth, Dhanya Balakrishnan, Vivek Prasanna, and KS Ravi Kumar, with Rajinikanth making a brief cameo appearance.

The topic of artificial intelligence (AI) in music creation was sparked by Lal Salaam. For a song in the movie, renowned composer AR Rahman used artificial intelligence (AI) to replicate the voices of the late playback singers Bamba Bakya and Shamul Hameed. In response to criticism, AR Rahman said that the procedure had been carried out with prior consent from the families of the deceased singers, who had received the appropriate compensation. He emphasized that technology is neither dangerous or bothersome when utilized properly.
