Before his first game on home soil, Rinku Singh works hard in the nets for India vs. Australia

After suffering sadness in the ICC ODI World Cup final, Team India turned its attention to the game’s shortest format. Starting on Thursday in Vizag, the men in blue will square off against Australia in a five-match Twenty20 International series. The management want to assemble a formidable squad for the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and the US in 2024, therefore they have given the younger players a chance by resting the older professionals from the series.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-286604″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-ani-20231122163907.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com ani 20231122163907″ width=”1511″ height=”1133″ title=”Before his first game on home soil, Rinku Singh works hard in the nets for India vs. Australia 6″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-ani-20231122163907.jpg 600w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-ani-20231122163907-150×113.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1511px) 100vw, 1511px” />

Many IPL players who haven’t yet shown their abilities at the greatest level make up the T20 team. Australia will be the biggest test for players like Tilak Varma and Rinku Singh, who participated in the Asian Games and made his debut in Ireland.

As Hardik Pandya has been recovering from a toe injury, Suryakumar Yadav will take charge of the team. Surya’s deputy for the first three games of the competition will be Ruturaj Gaikwad.

The team has gathered in Vishakhapatnam and is undergoing training under the careful supervision of head coach VVS Laxman, who assumed leadership in Dravid & Co.’s absence.

Rinku was seen exerting himself in the nets in the meanwhile. On Wednesday, he posted his photo from the nets on his Instagram account. Before, in two matches, the Aligarh hitter had made his India debut against Ireland, displaying his skill with 75 runs at a strike rate of 208.33.

The skipper’s motto is to just be courageous.

Suryakumar Yadav, the squad’s acting captain, has given his lads simple instructions: to be courageous and do everything it takes to support the team.

At the pre-match news conference, Suryakumar said, “Just be fearless and do whatever it takes to help the team—they’ve been doing that in the IPL.”

“I have only given them one piece of advice, which is to simply enjoy the interim, carry on with business as usual, and don’t change at the end of the day,” he said.
