<p>Kuldeep’s career began to decline in 2019 and it seemed that his IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), had also lost trust in him. Prior to sitting out the whole 2021 season, he played only one game in 2020. Kuldeep, who was formerly regarded as the cornerstone of India’s spin assault, was having trouble making the squad.</p>
<p>But after finding a new home with Delhi Capitals in 2022, Kuldeep was able to recover in an entirely different form. He was trusted by captain Rishabh Pant and head coach Ricky Ponting, and as a result, the leg-spinner picked up 21 wickets in the season, which was also a career-high for him.</p>
<p>Other than the DC coaches, someone else stepped in to support Kuldeep when he was on the verge of losing trust in himself. Sunil Joshi, a former India selector, tells how he volunteered to save the Chinese bowler when no one else wanted to.</p>
