According to FIFA, a report of wrongdoing between the Zambian squad and the Women’s World Cup is being looked into. If the allegation turned out to be accurate, the organization promised severe penalties.

Due to confidentially, the allegation left out specifics, but according to media accounts, the incident included Zambian Women’s Team Coach Bruce Mwape, who is accused of rubbing a player’s breasts.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-111017″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-russian-woman-36-finds-the-love-of-her-life-while-visiting-vrindavan-fbl-wc-2023-women-match38-crc-zam-60-1691112330784-1691112370449-11zon.png” alt=”” width=”1414″ height=”796″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-russian-woman-36-finds-the-love-of-her-life-while-visiting-vrindavan-fbl-wc-2023-women-match38-crc-zam-60-1691112330784-1691112370449-11zon.png 549w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-russian-woman-36-finds-the-love-of-her-life-while-visiting-vrindavan-fbl-wc-2023-women-match38-crc-zam-60-1691112330784-1691112370449-11zon-390×220.png 390w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-russian-woman-36-finds-the-love-of-her-life-while-visiting-vrindavan-fbl-wc-2023-women-match38-crc-zam-60-1691112330784-1691112370449-11zon-150×84.png 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1414px) 100vw, 1414px” />

“We can confirm that a complaint has been received in relation to the Zambian women’s national team, and this is currently being investigated,” a FIFA spokeswoman stated.

“FIFA takes any allegations of misconduct extremely seriously and has a clear process in place for anyone in football who wants to report an incident.”

Zambia returned home after being eliminated from the competition in Australia and New Zealand during the group round.

On social media last year, allegations of sexual assault in the Zambian women’s system arose, prompting the Football Association of Zambia to launch an inquiry.

Although there had not yet been a formal complaint, it said that “we consider these allegations to be very serious.”

At the World Cup, Mwape, who was appointed in 2018, was questioned several times about it.

He rebuffed suggestions that he should resign and refuted the allegations, calling them “fake”.

What specific environment is influencing the team? When questioned about it before to their game against Spain, which they lost 5-0, he gave a response.

“What are you discussing? Because I cannot resign without cause, I would want to know.

“Perhaps your reasoning is based on what you are reading in the press or in the media, but the truth should actually be revealed, not just based on rumors,” she said.

On Friday, a team spokeswoman did not answer right away.

The crew was located in New Zealand, where police said they had not received any complaints.

A police representative said, “However, we were made aware of an alleged incident and after making initial enquiries, no further action was required to be taken.”

FIFA, the authority that oversees football, emphasized that any complaints of abuse will be treated in the utmost confidentiality.

“Where culpability is proven, FIFA imposes the harshest penalties, up to and including lifetime bans from the game. This is supported by our past performance,” it stated.

Prior to defeating Costa Rica 3-1 in their first World Cup encounter, Zambia endured crushing losses to Spain and Japan.

In recent years, there have been several controversies involving sexual assault in women’s football, most notably in Gabon, Haiti, the US, and Afghanistan.

FIFA amended its Code of Ethics earlier this year, toughening the penalties for sexual assault and harassment.

It also requires “member associations and confederations to notify FIFA of any decisions rendered on sexual abuse” and removes the 10-year statute of limitations on sexual offenses.
