Jurgen Klopp Dismisses Kylian Mbappe Links and Complains About the Saudi Transfer Deadline

Considering that Saudi Arabia’s transfer window closes three weeks after that of Europe, Jurgen Klopp encouraged FIFA to look into the matter because he worries that big European leagues would lose more players without being able to replace them. Klopp is the manager of Liverpool.

The transfer window for the Premier League shuts on September 1—the same date as the majority of the top leagues in Europe—but teams in the Saudi Pro League may add players up to September 20.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-107428″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-production-of-the-honda-elevate-suv-series-has-begun-and-the-first-vehicle-has-left-the-tapukara-factory-jurgen-klopp-newcastle-9b13bbc0801b9218aae03be8fea8857b-11zon.png” alt=”” width=”1442″ height=”809″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-production-of-the-honda-elevate-suv-series-has-begun-and-the-first-vehicle-has-left-the-tapukara-factory-jurgen-klopp-newcastle-9b13bbc0801b9218aae03be8fea8857b-11zon.png 640w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-production-of-the-honda-elevate-suv-series-has-begun-and-the-first-vehicle-has-left-the-tapukara-factory-jurgen-klopp-newcastle-9b13bbc0801b9218aae03be8fea8857b-11zon-390×220.png 390w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-production-of-the-honda-elevate-suv-series-has-begun-and-the-first-vehicle-has-left-the-tapukara-factory-jurgen-klopp-newcastle-9b13bbc0801b9218aae03be8fea8857b-11zon-150×84.png 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1442px) 100vw, 1442px” />

Three of Liverpool’s top players have already left for Saudi Arabian teams: Roberto Firmino, Jordan Henderson, and fellow midfielder Fabinho all left on free transfers.

A day before their preseason friendly against Bayern Munich in Singapore, Klopp told reporters on Tuesday that “the influence of Saudi Arabia is massive at the moment.”

The fact that the transfer window is open for an additional three weeks in Saudi Arabia is, in my opinion, the worst thing. If I recall well, I heard something along such lines, and in Europe at least, that is not beneficial.

“FIFA or UEFA (the governing body of football in Europe) must find answers to it. I don’t, however, now know with certainty what will transpire in the end. Although it already has an impact on us, we still need to learn how to manage it. Time will reveal.

With lucrative contracts, Saudi Arabia has shown its financial might by enticing some of the top players from European clubs, including World Cup champion N’Golo Kante and French Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema.

The European exodus started last year when Cristiano Ronaldo, a forward for Portugal, became the highest-paid athlete in the world thanks to Al-Nassr’s headline signing just after the World Cup in Qatar.

Additionally, Klopp denied rumors that Liverpool was interested in signing Kylian Mbappe on a season-long loan from Paris St. Germain, where the Frenchman is at an impasse with the team as he approaches the last year of his contract.

Mbappe has also been connected to a world-record transfer to Saudi Arabia, although media sources claim that he has rejected the notion in favor of joining Real Madrid.

According to Klopp, “We laugh about it,” Sky Germany said. “I think he’s a really good player, but the financial situation doesn’t work for us at all,” I said. I don’t want to spoil the tale right now, but from what I can tell, there is nothing to it.

It’s conceivable that another club member is working on something and wants to surprise me… In the eight years that I’ve been here, it hasn’t occurred. That would be the first occurrence.
