The seasoned fast bowler for England has won a number of awards over his cricket career. Beginning his career at an early age in 2007, Broad has encountered some challenging batsmen. One incident that sticks out in the memory of an Indian cricket fan is when Yuvraj Singh struck Broad for six sixes in a single over during the 2007 World Cup.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-103004″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-download-2023-07-30t182951.992.jpg” alt=”” width=”1433″ height=”1073″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-download-2023-07-30t182951.992.jpg 259w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-download-2023-07-30t182951.992-150×112.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1433px) 100vw, 1433px” />

Even if it was a triumph for the batter from Punjab, it was excruciating for 21-year-old Broad, who was still figuring things out. Broad remarked, “Yeah, that was definitely a really rough day, looking back on the situation. Whether I would have been 21 or 22. [22] I gained a lot of knowledge. I really built a whole mental routine around that event because I knew that I was severely lacking as an international performer at that particular time. I hurried through my planning. I didn’t have a pre-game ritual of any kind. I was lacking concentration in particular, and as a result I began developing my “warrior mode,” as I like to refer to it.

“Of course, in the end, I wish it hadn’t happened. The fact that it was a dead rubber and not a match meant that I didn’t feel as if I had eliminated us from the World Cup or whatever. But I believe it toughened me up to make me the competitor I am today and has really accelerated my progress,” Broad said.

Along with his longstanding bowling partner Jimmy Anderson, Broad, who made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in 2007, is one of only two fast bowlers to have more than 600 wickets.
