<p>In 2003, Genelia D’Souza made her acting debut with Riteish Deshmukh in the film “Tujhe Meri Kasam.” After then, she made several film appearances and received praise for her acting. In an interview, Genelia said that during the early stages of her career, producers and directors encouraged her to alter her name because they claimed that “Genelia” is a hard name to pronounce. <p>When she initially entered the film industry, some advised Genelia to alter her name, she stated in an interview with Siddharth Kanan. I’m not sure what they were thinking when they claimed that Genelia would be difficult for people to pronounce. Yet I emphasized that was my name. Nowadays, everyone calls it, so I’m pleased I declined the advice.</p>
<p>The actress from “Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya” said that she was ordered to alter her name to “Jeena.”</p>
<p>Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia were wed in 2012. After being married, she opted to take a sabbatical from acting, leading some people to believe Riteish was the one who forced her to stop appearing in movies. But the reason I’m back today is him, she said in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama. You are brilliant at what you do, so why are you sitting at home, he said. He persisted in telling me to “do your work and this is what you know,” even though it wasn’t his movie.</p>
