Khushboo Guru Maa Turns Personal Struggles into a Mission of Compassion and Service for India’s Underprivileged

Khushboo Guru Maa Turns Personal Struggles into a Mission of Compassion and Service for India’s Underprivileged

New Delhi: In a society where success is often measured by personal achievement, Khushboo Guru Maa has chosen a different path—one defined by compassion, service and a commitment to empowering people living on the margins of society. A member of the (Kinnar) community, her journey from Bihar to Delhi and her subsequent work for underprivileged communities reflect a life dedicated to restoring dignity, opportunity and hope.

Born in Bihar, Khushboo Guru Maa moved to Delhi at the age of 12, where she came under the care and guidance of her Guru Maa. Growing up while experiencing social challenges firsthand, she developed a deep understanding of the difficulties faced by vulnerable communities.

Instead of allowing those experiences to limit her, she transformed them into a mission of service. Over the years, she has sought to channel the support she received from society towards helping people in need, with her efforts extending beyond the transgender community to underprivileged women, children and senior citizens.

Her initiatives have included providing shelter and support to homeless transgender individuals, helping facilitate marriages for underprivileged young women, and supporting vulnerable families during times of crisis. During the COVID-19 pandemic and the floods in Punjab, she also led relief efforts across Bihar, Delhi and Kolkata, providing assistance to people affected by difficult circumstances.

Bludoor Foundation: Building a Platform for Social Impact

With a vision to expand her humanitarian work and create sustainable avenues of support, Khushboo Guru Maa established the Bludoor Foundation. The foundation focuses on education, elderly care and support for vulnerable children and communities.

One of its key initiatives is Khushboo Gurukul, which aims to provide free educational support to children raised by single-earning or widowed mothers. The programme offers coaching across core subjects, English-language fluency classes and basic computer training, helping children gain access to skills and educational opportunities that can strengthen their future prospects.

The foundation is also working in the area of elderly care. In Motihari, Bihar, an old-age home is being established to provide shelter, food and medical care to approximately 40 abandoned senior citizens, offering them a secure, caring and dignified environment.

Expanding the Mission Through New Infrastructure

As part of its next phase of social initiatives, the Bludoor Foundation is developing a series of facilities in Bettiah, Bihar, with a target completion timeline of December 2026.

The planned projects include:

  • Khushboo Gurukul, Bettiah: A large-scale educational centre designed to serve up to 1,000 underprivileged students with access to education and skill-development opportunities.
  • Khushboo Guru Maa Vridh Ashram, Bettiah: A planned modern 40-bed facility dedicated to providing shelter, food, care and dignity to destitute elderly individuals.
  • Khushboo Guru Maa Orphanage: A proposed facility intended to provide parentless children with a safe environment along with education, care and opportunities for personal development.

Through these initiatives, Khushboo Guru Maa aims to create a support system that addresses not only immediate needs but also the long-term development and dignity of vulnerable individuals.

A Message Beyond Social Barriers

Khushboo Guru Maa’s journey represents more than an individual story of philanthropy. It challenges conventional perceptions about the transgender community and demonstrates how lived experiences can become a source of empathy, leadership and social change.

Her work reflects a simple but powerful belief: compassion should not be limited by gender, social status or circumstance.

By directing her efforts towards education, elderly care, child welfare, disaster relief and support for marginalized communities, Khushboo Guru Maa continues to work towards building a more inclusive society—one where vulnerable individuals are given not merely assistance, but dignity, opportunity and a chance to build a better future.

Through the Bludoor Foundation and its expanding network of initiatives, her vision is gradually taking shape as a broader movement of service, with the potential to touch thousands of lives across India.
